Character Background and Description Susan is a frequent guest of the Ark II with her younger brother John and her father, George. George is a successful merchant, trading goods and services throughout a large, carefully-cultivated network of professionals who owe him favors and normal people who have purchased a thing or two from him. While not officially Skyborn themselves, nor particularly inclined to aid in any services to the Wise Men, her family are such frequent guests on the Ark II that she is at least somewhat acquainted with the Skyborn of her age group due to her adventures on the Ark II.
As a child, Susan explored much of the Ark II's public areas- and a few areas not-so-public- in a quest for amusement after the games the suite included and books and toys her family were permitted to bring aboard the ship wore out their welcome. Journeys on the Ark II tended to last for weeks at a time, and while the staff was always friendly, Susan found she had to make her own amusement. Her necklace, earrings, and sunny demeanor made her stand out among the Earthborn children, taught from an early age to forsake materialism and work solely for the benefit of the Wise Men.
Susan desires to use her travels with her father and brother as a basis to create and sell stories about the various places that she and her family have visited, but is unsure if it'll create a sustainable long-term lifestyle, if she even cares about her lifestyle being sustainable, and aware of her father's desire for her and John to take over the Scarros network as he ages. She enjoys learning new subjects, and when she was young enough to be regarded with amusement instead of suspicion she enjoyed learning about each crew member's roles from the crew of the Ark II she could find.
